Bryn Mawr, Pa backyard
This property located in the community of Bryn Mawr had a relatively small back yard space that was poorly drained and unusable.
The entire space was renovated by the construction of new stone terrace retaining wall with flagstone step treads. The lawn was properly graded and underground water containment system was installed to alleviate standing water. New plantings of Holly and Cryptomeria were installed to provide an evergreen screen from the house next door. A beautiful combination of ornamental trees, shrubs and perennials build excitement and color all season long.
Strafford, Pa woodland garden
This shady property located in a wooded area of Strafford presented many challenges. Poor drainage and dense shade resulted in an unsightly lawn space along with a severely eroded slope in the back yard.
We were able to adapt an effective landscape working with the natural elements, like the slope and the shade. We thinned out the overhead tree canopy to allow for more sunlight. A planting of shade loving evergreens, native plants and perennials provide drama, color and effectively cover the slope to prevent erosion.
Blue Bell, Pa poolscape
This undeveloped pool which was connected to the house with an existing patio was very stark and a wide open space, but it did not relate to the home.
